Santa Cruz Trail to Cashapampa to basecamp for Diablo Mudo

 Basecamp for Huayhuash trail.
I reached to the basecamp at 5 p.m. The trail from Diablo Mudo was straight down hilI could
enjoy down hill running.  Using trekking pole long enough, looking 3-4 ahead, so I could
judge what are laid on trail.  For 3 hour long stretch, I covered 1 hour minutes.

From Huayhuash basecamp, I could see spectacular backdrop of legendary peaks.  Jerupaja chico
famous for Peter Habeler and Reinhold Messner's ascent.  Second from left is Jirishanka
that Toni Egger made first ascent .  He perished at Cerro Torre, Patagonia.

From the summit of the Diablo Mudo,we could see prominent view of Jerupaja.

To compensate nutrition, the team stopped by at meat market to buy pork. That night at rio camp, cook fried it.
On the water conduit trail to rio camp, evening glow was splendid. The route to rio camp hit
downhill path. From there, we took right hand side valley to the Diablo Mudo basecamp.
  ( Below : Diablo Mudo )

From the basecamp, route to the Diablo Mudo scramble quite rugged, steep moraine. Frequently
we encountered precarious path.I
