Wallface,NY









 

Wallface is divided into 4 sections. From left, Diagonal wall, to middle section, Shield area then Central Depression, Mental Block area, ranges 3/8 miles. Diagonal on picture above overtly showing on left section.  Colossal boulders in the Indian Creek clearly disclose historical transition of the wall and earthly transformation. Narrow sign of gorge and boulder formation in the valley matches that was done in not that long periods ago.  In the center of the face illustrates old transformation of rock. Most of rock, lava are consisted of soft, muddy ingredients, then piled directly under the cliff.  That

formation happened early stage of this face's formation.

Near to Shield area, I recognized Oranutang and Lion.

2nd lean to, very close to Cobb's clearing on Indian pass trail. 

 

Route condition was not preferable due to rain.

 

Happy guys at the starting point for Diagonal route. 2012, I bivouacked beside of this table rock.

The ladders we could see at the Indian Pass saved deforest of species for 2 steep outcrop sections.



 

Near the " Summit Rock ", there was lumber stairway.

At around 9 p.m. we had to wake up to dig ditch to creek run quick. The water already soaked Seung's  Arcteryx Bora backpack.  Hong and Shin are clearing small pebbles that are blocking

creek run. 



Humongous boulder shelter, adjacent rock gap provide good sleep for 10 people.

 







Nice boulder shelter for 4 people.  The other night, 5 stayed at this slanted rock.

Near the junction point to red trail and diagonal creek, terrain require careful jump to another boulder.  Should be careful.   

 



In 20 year period, I've never come by at ADJ, just info center parking lot. 2014  Indian pass outing made that happened.

Heart lake was in state of tranquil with morning mist.









ADJ Nature Museum looked pretty small, however it was nicely organized.

 

Actor was Sanggeun Han. Fortuitously I watched him, then he made this happen, what a funny action. 

 



 

At 8:30 pm. Sang Park alerted rain creek started merge to Seungmo's backpack. Then 4 men

forced to wake up, and started to dig ditch to creek water run rapid and drain quick.

 

For the trip and climbing the Wallface, even though we couldn't reach top section of the rock,

all the members were happy from hard Indian Pass trail with 50 pound over backpack.

Comrades at the  Seneca Rock,WV on Aug.31, 2014  From right, Cho, Cho,Han,Yang,Park and Seungmo. We separated into 2 party to Soler and Conn's East.  The 1st pitch of each route was altered
from planned parties. From 2nd, we got together. And climbed 2nd pitch of Soler,7+ difficulty.
Due to climbing capability, Park Junie couldn't finish the pitch. Seung had to rappel from the 1st
pitch. To novice climber, 2nd pitch was relatively difficult.

Optimistic Seneca Rock

For the backdrop, from left, North peak, gap and South peak.

1 of Sep. was humid and volatile day.  Seung Mo Shin was quite optimistic. He was happy to bring
climbing group to Soler and Conn's Direct.  We had to leave for New York for the week, leaving
Han Sanggeun and Junghee Cho to get back the damaged radiator replaced.

 State camp ground where we stayed.

Rib eye steak on open fire ring.  Medium rare one was tender. As a minute pass by, tenderness of

meat lessened.

Starting point for Soler route, one of the most popular route at the Seneca Rock.

devoured it. Meat itself too tough to chew it.

Kolphing tent from Korea were pitched at the campsite.  That stand out from the camp.
